Raise the Curtain!
We urgently need your help to launch our next season! By supporting the arts through Opera Arlington, you're helping more music come to life in our community, and empowering emerging musicians through paid performance opportunities. Opera Arlington is a community-driven organization that relies on your support. Join hands with us to ignite a passion for the arts and culturally enrich our community in Arlington and DFW. Make a gift today and become a part of the Opera Arlington family.
Opera Arlington is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law.
Where will my donation go?
Your gift will enable us to present opera productions, recitals, and concerts this season, helping us educate, inspire, challenge, amaze, nurture, and empower both artists and audiences in our city. Raised funds will cover production costs, artist fees, and operations to make this season possible. Here's what we're dreaming up:
A fall production of Viardot’s charming chamber operetta, Cinderella, with chorus and virtuosic, Chopin-esque piano accompaniment.
A spring production of Mozart's world-famous masterpiece, Don Giovanni, with chamber orchestra.
An Artist Spotlight recital series highlighting the talents of world-class musicians based in Arlington, DFW, and beyond.
Additional concert, gala, and salon performances throughout the season.
How else can I help?
There are many ways you can become a part of our mission at Opera Arlington beyond financial support.
In-Kind Support: Would you or your business like to help further Opera Arlington's mission through resources? In-kind support is tax-deductible (to the extent allowed by the law, according to your specific tax situation) and can include things like the use of your venue or event space, printing services, or rental/donation of other physical resources. Contact us if you would like to make an in-kind donation.
Volunteering: Contact us if you would like to become part of the amazing team of volunteers that makes our work possible. Volunteer needs include choristers, stagehands, front-of-house support, technical/production assistants, costume and set construction assistants, and more.
Host a Salon Concert: Opera Arlington is seeking patrons to support our mission by hosting salon concerts (live recital events in your home or event space). Bring the enchantment of up-close, intimate music-making to your event for a night your guests will never forget. These fundraising events help Opera Arlington engage with the community and connect with donors, raising funds that facilitate future performances and empower our mission. A Note from the Founder
Dear reader,
I want to take a moment and thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your support of Opera Arlington. I believe that live opera—story-telling in music and art—is a bold act of community and humanity; that art has the power to change attitudes and lives; that music can sing to the most secret places of our hearts; and that this work can help our community become a more beautiful and compassionate place. It is a privilege to celebrate works, new and old, that are an outpouring of the human spirit from cultures and languages across the world.
It is my hope that Opera Arlington will build and engage a thriving music community in Arlington, connecting us like never before. It is also my goal to become a place that fosters and celebrates emerging musicians, propelling them to sustainable and successful careers in an industry that too often treats singers as replaceable. Thank you for being a part of that vision. I will leave you with the beautiful words of an aria, "When I Sing," composed by Jamey Guzman to text by Ken Takata in 2021:
When I sing, I paint with time, a breath and flow, organic, alive,
When I sing, the past is near, the present dear,
A single note suspends in between silence and the rest.
When I sing, ancient countries reconvene,
Sing out through the page across time and space,
Quand je chante, cuando canto, when I sing.
When I sing... I cannot recall what I was before.
A golden moment of forgetting... before the world rushes in,
The moment of surrender,
As I’m held within the orchestral wave, the sundering,
A breath, a rest, a shuddering.
What man are you who could compare
To what I hear, to what I feel
When I sing?
With humble thanks,
Founder & Artistic Director
